Taking The First Step

For the beginners, a stick figure or a skeleton can be very helpful. Once you learn the figures, you know where to start.

The drawing from the left shows that you may try to work in the center line and work from there.

The drawing from the right shows construction lines which have been drawn very lightly because you will erase them later when you finish or "clean up" your drawing.

The entire figures acts as a guideline in the construction of the body. The dots are showing where the joints are. Put the dots at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and one at the top of the spine so the head can turn.
